Firefox freezes up after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04

Every time someone would attempt to send me an IM on facebook, Firefox would go gray and stop responding for a moment. I have discovered the quickest way to solve this problem, is to delete the .mozilla folder in my user profile.

CAUTION: This will remove all settings, extensions, and bookmarks in firefox.

Windows won’t boot after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Today I updated my Ubuntu 9.10 install to Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS. My machine also dual boots with Windows 7. After I upgraded I came to discover that I could no longer boot into Windows, in fact when I would try to boot to Windows it would just return to the GRUB boot menu. If you are experiencing this issue, feel free to check out these two websites for the answer.

Ubuntu Forum thread that led me to the second site.

Finally an update

Well today is my 22 birthday… exciting huh? No, not really. Just feels like another day, just with a lot more posts on my facebook wall and a lot more text messages on my phone.
I know its been a while since I last posted (almost 5 months but who’s counting?) so here’s whats been going on.
As you should know I am a Computer Science student, so most of my classes this semester have been CS classes. I am currently in the process of learning three programming languages… yes three. Java, MUMPS, and IBM assembly. The assembly is quite interesting and I’m glad I won’t have to program with that in “the real world.” Academically this has been the best semester of college for me. I currently have the best grades ever, and this is my final semester in the dorms. In June I’ll be moving to an apartment complex with 3 other guys. It shouldn’t be as cramped as it sounds. I’m kind of excited to having my own bedroom again. Also, I won’t be stuck with all of the stupid rules that the Department of Residence forces on us. Plus I’ll save money by moving to an apartment!!! What could be better than that?
